Buyer's guide

AI video production in the UAE: a buyer's guide for 2026

What AI video actually is, what it costs against a conventional shoot, where it works and where it does not, and the questions to ask any supplier before you sign.

Short answer: in the UAE in 2026, a finished 30-second AI video costs between AED 2,250 and roughly AED 8,500 depending on tier, takes five to ten working days, and needs no shoot day, permit or crew. A conventional production of the same film typically takes four to eight weeks and several times the budget. AI video suits public awareness, service explainers, campaign teasers, internal films and social series; it does not replace live event coverage or documentary footage of real people.

What "AI video production" means

AI video production is the making of a finished film — talent, set, lighting, product staging and motion — with generative models instead of a camera, followed by the same direction, editing, grading, voice-over and subtitling any film goes through. The output is a broadcast-quality master and every aspect ratio cut from it. The generation is the middle of the process, not the whole of it; the brief, the script, the storyboard and the finish are where quality is decided.

What disappears from a conventional budget

A conventional shoot carries casting and talent fees with usage rights, a crew (director, DoP, lighting, sound, grip), equipment rental, one to three shoot days plus travel and standby, location permits and approvals, and a reshoot whenever a line or a scene changes. In an AI production every one of those lines is zero. What remains is creative direction, generation, post-production and the approvals — and a revision is a regeneration rather than a reshoot. The practical effect is that what a shoot would have consumed can go to media, so the same budget puts the same message in front of a larger audience.

Where it works, and where it does not

It works for public awareness and behaviour-change campaigns, service explainers, event teasers and recaps, internal and leadership messages, training modules, year-in-review films, vertical social series and sector or destination promotion. It does not replace live coverage of a real event, testimonials from real customers filmed as themselves, or documentary work. For those, a camera is still the right tool — and many campaigns combine both.

Language, and why it matters here

Scripts should be written in Arabic and English together, not translated after the fact, and the Arabic should carry the same visual weight, size and colour as its English pair on screen. Further language versions can be produced from the same master without a reshoot. Ask any supplier whether an Arabic editor reviews the script, the voice-over and the subtitles.

Seven questions to ask before you sign

  • Which of my brand rules will be held constant across every shot — logo placement, colour, packaging, typography?
  • How many written approval gates are there, and what does each one lock? (Script, storyboard and rough cut is the standard.)
  • How many revision rounds are included, and what counts as a new scope?
  • Who owns the film on delivery, for how long, and in which media and territories? (Full transfer, unlimited, is the right answer.)
  • Is AI use disclosed where required, and is there a takedown clause?
  • Which formats and subtitle files are delivered, and are project files retained for later edits?
  • Is there a written services agreement, and an NDA before briefing?

What a good process looks like

Brief and objectives agreed; concept and script written in both languages and approved; style frames and a storyboard that fix the look, pace and on-screen text; generation to the boards, then selection and grade; edit, voice-over, music, sound and subtitles; rough-cut approval and delivery of every format. Five to ten working days, end to end, with one named contact on each side.
